This past weekend was a full-on drink fest. Friday night at Unit for, my fellow EG’er, Kris Hernandez’ bday – with sloppy results. Saturday night pitchers of beer at Crown&Tiger for Bassment Jam – with sloppy results. And, Trailer Park Boys mini-marathon culminating with the tv series finale – with sloppy results.
However, I wasn’t a total shitshow. I heard some great tunes which I will share with you now gentle reader.
My good friend Art Official was spinning alongside TT, Derek W and Chris James at the Tiger Bar Basement Jam. It was my first time in the space and the lights and kickin’ sound system definitely make me want to throw a party in that low-ceiling’ed room! Great music all around…but these 2 tracks really stood out:
A nice slice of urban inflected fidget-house that sounded great on the system at Tiger Bar.
Simple tech-house track with a great vocal hook. Definitely could see myself playing this out. Oh and there’s a video for it too!
