My pal Splattermonkey invited me to play a set of “Future Funk” at his weekly Pass the Butter Wednesdays at Andy Pool Hall. In case you haven’t heard, Pass the Butter is a night dedicated to the musical permutations of funk and soul. As the resident dj and host, Splattermonkey, plays vinyl exclusively from 45’s and12inch funk records from yesteryear and today.

Expect a whole range of futuristic funk from the retro sounds of Midnight Star, Dazz Band, Prince and Kano to the modern funk of producers like Dâm Funk, Oriol, Flying Lotus, Onra, Chromeo and many more.
I’m going to try my best to keep it as futuristic and Funky as I can which means I’ll probably be playing tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s LOL! Just kidding, anyone who listens to me spin on CKLNs Bruckbeat Radio knows that I can drop some pretty futuristic sounding tunes myself! Which is why I decided to look to the present for the future on the last Wednesday of every month!
